Now that the White House has confirmed that Trump is being investigated for obstruction of justice, he’s calling the probe a “witch hunt.”
And on Wednesday, Trump was in New York City to meet with former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton, the New York Times reported.
Bratton was reportedly in the middle of an effort to hire former FBI agents to join his NYPD.
“I’ve heard the president’s claim, and I’ve said to the president, ‘You’re just trying to distract from your failure to deliver a full report on what happened on your campaign,'” Bratton told reporters, according to the Times.
Bratts said that he would like to see the FBI’s probe into Trump’s alleged obstruction of an investigation into his campaign in 2020 complete as soon as possible.
“We’ve had an effort underway since May, to get that done,” Bratton said.
“It has been delayed for a number of reasons, not the least of which is a concern about the President’s behavior, which is the reason I am going to be working with you and the President to get this done as soon we can.”
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN.
